What does Uber, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Salesforce, Netflix have in common?

What do you think is the reason why some startups last and build value while others shoot up and then flame out?

‘Category’ is the answer.

People assume the company with the best product wins and there is room for a lot of winners in a category…NOT AT ALL.

A company with a great product, great culture, and great category wins and becomes a leader in the category.

Dumb luck is not a viable strategy.

You have to position your product or you will be positioned by someone else.

I read this book called “Play Bigger” and it is completely about Category Creation.

I finished the book last month and recorded this video review with my only friend who loves to read Piyush Kand (we bond over books and sarcasm )

The book is about category creation. It has everything from discovering a category, category as a strategy, principles of category design, playbook to create a category, harvesting the category and so much more.

It’s not only for marketers, but it’s also for CEOs, innovators, and anyone who wants to build a brand for themselves.

This book will show you how to do that.

Watch the review and let me know if you found it valuable.
